Laura Angel

Laura is a Senior Associate in the insurance team at Tottle Partners. Laura has been working in the areas of insurance and personal injury litigation since 2002, having commenced work with a large national plaintiff firm whilst completing her studies.

Prior to joining Tottle Partners, Laura was a Senior Associate in the insurance practice at Talbot Olivier Lawyers.

Laura has qualifications in law and health science and has a special interest in the areas of negligence and general liability, professional negligence, motor vehicle accident claims, public liability/occupiers liability, property damage, and catastrophic injury claims.

Laura is a member of the Australian Insurance Law Association and has contributed to various publications in her area of practice.

 

Maha Chaar

Maha was admitted to practice in 2005 and holds a Bachelor of Laws with Honours and a Bachelor of Science. She completed her Articles of Clerkship with Tottle Partners and has remained with the firm since that time.

Maha’s practice covers a wide range of commercial litigation and dispute resolution ranging from complex litigation involving significant resource projects, areas of the Corporations Act, trade practices and insolvency to simple contractual disputes.

 

Mark Davies

Mark is a senior associate at Tottle Partners who has over 18 years experience as an insurance and commercial litigator, both in England and Australia.   Mark has managed significant commercial disputes and claims in both jurisdictions in which he is admitted

Mark was admitted to practice as a solicitor in England in 1993.  For eight years he ran his own successful law practice in Manchester, England, and his clients included Lloyd’s based non-marine syndicates.  Since being admitted to practice in Australia in 2009, Mark has applied his considerable analytical skills and practical experience to the resolution of complex corporate litigation arising under the Corporations Act, particularly in connection with the conduct of external administrations.  

Mark has appeared as counsel in the High Court in England and he now appears as counsel in our State and Federal Courts and also in professional disciplinary matters before the State Administrative Tribunal of Western Australia.

 

Andrew Gliddon

Andrew commenced employment with Tottle Partners in 2010. Since graduating from the University of Western Australia in 2000 he has worked in the area of insurance litigation. He was admitted to the Supreme Court of Western Australia in 2002 and High Court of Australia in 2010 and over the years has gained extensive experience acting initially for plaintiffs and later for defendant insurers in a range of personal injury related insurance matters.

Andrew predominantly acts for public and private insurers in the areas of public liability, professional indemnity and compulsory third party insurance. Andrew has been involved in a number of trials in the District Court and appeals to the Court of Appeal. He has appeared on numerous occasions in the District and Supreme Courts in addition to various tribunals. He regularly negotiates settlement of claims on behalf of insurers ranging from minor to catastrophic injury claims.

 

Kazia Klopper

Kazia is a senior associate at Tottle Partners. She was admitted to practice in New South Wales in 2003 and started work as a commercial litigation solicitor with Abbott Tout Lawyers (now HWL Ebsworth) in 2003.  Since then Kazia has regularly appeared in the Supreme and District Courts of New South Wales and Western Australia and has been involved in numerous mediations and arbitrations. 

Upon returning to Perth Kazia furthered her skills at Freehills before joining Tottle Partners in 2007.

Kazia’s expertise in providing advice, acting for commercial matters and in disputes covers the areas of contract; negligence; consumer and competition law; building, construction and engineering; real property; intellectual property and Corporation Act matters.

 

Fabienne Sharbanee

Fabienne was admitted to practice in 1999.  She holds a Bachelor of Laws and a Bachelor of Commerce from Murdoch University.
